This is one of the cleanest Scott 222C amps that I have come across in a long time. All of the transformers and the chassis (inside and out) show only minimal wear and no corrosion. The original power cord is in good shape and is not brittle. All of the knobs are clean and in great shape. The entire face still looks fantastic with clear lettering and all four corners are still sharp. As the photos show, this vintage amplifier is exceptionally clean inside and out and was well cared for and maintained over the years. After the restoration was complete, this amplifier was bench tested and it is in great working / sounding condition. Some of the work that was done to this amplifier includes: testing all tubes and replacing any weak tubes, cleaned all controls and switches with DeOxit, replaced bad / out of spec capacitors, replaced any out of spec resistors, all solder joints have been inspected and any loose connections were re-soldered. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Amplifier and case only, no other accessories included. Visible traces that it has been opened in the past. Some bumps and light chips on the wood case. Stereo Selector knob is bumped slightly out of shape. Some wear on numbers “8″ and “10″ for the loudness knob. Have original patina and has not been cleaned, only dedusted. Lamps were tested with a lamp tester and they all tests good with variable degrees of wear.
If the main output capacitor is replaced, the noise cease. Power ON but emits a loud humming noise through the speakers.
